Wasps Nest Control

Vespula

There are over 7,000 species of Wasp living in the UK. The two we most commonly see are the Common wasp (Vespula Vulgaris) and the German wasp (Vespula Germanica).

When most people think of wasps they tend to think of them as a pointless and aggressive pest that tries to share your pint in a pub garden or gate crash your BBQ. However, they do serve a purpose, which is to keep down the number of other insects such as flies and caterpillars by killing them to feed to their grubs back in the nest.

They also help with pollination by transferring pollen from one plant to another when they stop to feed on the sweet nectar plants provide. So a wasps nest at the bottom of a garden or in a woodland may not need treatment but a nest in or around a building is a risk to public health.

If you’ve noticed a large number of wasps flying in and out from one location, then it’s likely you have a nest which should be treated by a professional.

Reasons for control of wasps in your home, business or garden:

  • Wasp stings are painful and can even be fatal.
  • When a wasp’s nest has been created inside a building it can cause structural damage.

At Ecotech Pest Control we have the necessary training, experience, and equipment to treat wasp nests efficiently at low and high level.
